What is Fiber to the Home (FTTH)?
Fiber is the technology of the future, transmitting data over long distances at the speed of light. But to take full advantage of its potential, the fiber cable has to be laid right to the heart of your business. That's why it's called Fiber to the Home (FTTH).  Proximus is the first Belgian operator to install end-to-end fiber to the business for its customers. Most other operators, such as VOO, Orange or Telenet, claim to offer fiber, but use a coaxial cable for the last leg from the street to the home. However, these two types of connection are absolutely not equivalent. Only Fiber to the Home guarantees the best performance in terms of download and upload speeds, stability and latency. And on top of that, your business is ready for the future! While Proximus is gradually rolling out fiber to existing homes and businesses in Belgium, new building estates are usually immediately connected to our fiber network, in consultation with the construction industry. 
Do all operators offer the same fiber connection?
The answer is no.  Currently, the standard for "ultra-fast" or "Gigabit" Internet service is up to 1 Gigabit per second (or Gbps) download, and up to 50 Megabits per second (or Mbps) upload. Most operators, such as VOO, Orange or Telenet, claim to offer fiber, but use a coaxial cable for the last section, from the street to the home. This is not a Fiber to the home connection. Proximus, for its part, installs fiber right into its customers' business. The fact that the fiber cable is connected directly to your home means that you have your own cable, not shared with your neighbours. So you're totally independent of any external interference factors. And that makes all the difference, because you get an ultra-stable connection and the fastest Internet in the country, with download speeds of up to 8.5 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 8 Gbps. And that's just the beginning! By opting for this cutting-edge technology, you're ready for the future.  But what does this mean in practice? Imagine you want to download the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (30 GB): while a 1 Gbps connection allows you to download it in 4 minutes, an 8.5 Gbps connection allows you to do so in just 24 seconds. Do I really need such speeds?
If you're wondering who needs these speeds, you might be surprised! Today, 1 Gbps has become the norm but we are asking more and more from our Internet connection. The needs are constantly increasing and with the technological evolutions (4K, 8K, virtual reality, …) and the numerous connected objects that are developing at a lightning speed, fiber technology is the solution. How long does the installation take?
The installation takes between two and four hours, but don't worry, the connection is only cut off for a few minutes. So you can continue your activities without any problems. For new housing estates and apartment buildings, which are usually already connected to our fiber network, the technician only activates your services on the fiber network, which takes much less time. How do I activate the Bizz Internet Guarantee option included in Business Flex+ Fiber?
Make sure the option is ticked.The technician will check on site during the installation of your internet, TV or fixed line that there is good 4G/5G coverage. After installing the extra modem with SIM card, it will be activated automatically.

The “estimated maximum speed” is the maximum speed that users can expect to achieve at different locations in the coverage area under realistic conditions. This maximum value results from measurements on the whole national territory and might vary depending on the device performance and your location during the use of the service. 5G being under deployment, the speed estimation is based on limited data. 
The “optimale maximum speed” is the speed that can be achieved under optimal usage conditions. Speed may vary depending on the price plan, device performance and your location while using the service. More info on 5G and the Internet policy. Internet (data): if the customer surfing at reduced speed wants to continue surfing at maximum speed, it is possible to purchase a data boost option via Proximus+ or by contacting customer service. Normal and personal use of the Service by the Customer and unlimited use: The service is conditioned to a personal, non-abusive use, with due diligent. As part of the unlimited offers, in Belgium and the EU Zone, Proximus therefore reserves the right to limit or suspend the service in the event of use in excess of more than 10,000 SMS/month or 500 SMS/day or sending SMS to more than 250 different recipients per month or in the event of regular calls of more than 6h/day and/or 30h/week. Regarding unlimited mobile data usage, they are subject to a reasonable usage policy. In Belgium and the EU zone*, the customer can surf up to 400 GB/month at maximum speed and then the speed is reduced (max 512 Kbps). Business Mobile Flex+ Premium: Receive monthly extra 1 GB of mobile data for use in the United States, Canada and Switzerland and 1000 call minutes and 1000 text messages from the EU to these countries and vice versa, or between these three countries. The bundle is also valid for calls received in these three countries as well as calls and SMS from Belgium to other EU countries and Switzerland, Canada & USA. Once the units in the bundle are used up, the calls, SMS messages and the use of mobile data are billed at the price of the current Business Mobile Flex subscriptions. Fraudulent calls & SMS filtering: Proximus implements, in accordance with its legal and regulatory obligations, technical measures aimed at detecting and filtering fraudulent calls and messages (such as phishing attempts, smishing, or similar scams) before they reach customers. These measures rely on automated mechanisms and evolving technical criteria. Due to the changing and sophisticated nature of fraud, Proximus cannot guarantee the identification or blocking of all fraudulent communications, and some calls or messages may still reach the customer. These measures therefore cannot be considered as a guarantee of results, nor as absolute protection against any fraud attempt. Your purchases are linked to your mobile number and can be consulted in the usage section via the Proximus+ app.
The settlement of your purchases takes place together with the settlement of your Proximus products and services. The overview of your purchases is listed in the section “Details of your statement for third-party services”, which is added as an attachment to your Proximus bill or statement.
Your standard monthly budget is set at €100 and can be adjusted via the Proximus+ app to a minimum of €5 and a maximum of €250. You can also choose to deactivate or reactivate this option free of charge via the Proximus+ app.
