What is fiber exactly?
As a futureproof technology, fiber transmits data over long distances at the speed of light. The advantages are numerous, including an ultra-fast and much more stable Internet connection as well as an ultra-low latency. Proximus is modernizing its network (teaming up with other partners such as Fiberklaar and Unifiber) and is gradually replacing its current copper cables with fiber cables. And unlike most other operators, Proximus installs fiber until the inside of its customer's homes and business to guarantee the best possible performance, today and tomorrow. Ultimately, the Proximus copper network will be completely replaced by this new technology. Thanks to a close collaboration with the construction sector, most new housing estates and apartment buildings are swiftly connected to our fiber network.
How can I easily transfer my internet to Proximus?
If you want to switch to Proximus and change your internet provider, the easiest way is to use Easy Switch. We will take care of your transfer for you.
What are the installation options?
Self-installation: Set up your Proximus services in just a few simple steps, with no technical knowledge required! Receive your equipment, follow the steps, and you’re all set. More info on self-installation.Installation by a technician: If self-installation isn’t possible at your address, a technician will come and install your services for free. Is self-installation possible, but do you prefer a technician’s assistance? A fee of €65.29 applies.
How long does the installation take?
The installation takes between two and four hours, but don't worry, the connection is only cut off for a few minutes. So you can continue your activities without any problems. For new housing estates and apartment buildings, which are usually already connected to our fiber network, the technician only activates your services on the fiber network, which takes much less time.
